Ouchie Fun?
Pnut is loving going to the doctor with me for his new baby brother. He calls the doctor “the ouchie”. After leaving one of my many appointments he asked me in the sweetest voice…”Mommy, ouchie fun?” Yes, Pnut ouchie fun….LOL. He calls the doctor the ouchie because he thinks that I’m getting a needle when I’m having my blood pressure taken.
He has been really helping me with my pregnancy and getting ready for the debut of his little brother. We’ve spent alot of time in his baby brother’s room and he loves to help me put things away. He is also concerned about me hurting myself since I am so large and he can tell how uncomfortable I am. “Be Careful, Momma” he says as I walk somewhere. After the bottles were washed he took one and ask “Baby? Momma”. Yes, I said, that is for the baby. “Juice?” ha ha, he thought that it was to put juice in. I explained to him that it was for milk, that the baby will drink milk when he comes. Pnut then opened the refridgerator and pulled the gallon of milk out and said “Here, Momma, Here”. LOL Such a smart boy.
We talk about “Baby Kaleb” everyday. More and more as the days grow closer to delivery. If you ask him a question concerning the belly he usually either lifts his shirt or my shirt and pat mine/his tummy and says “Baby, mommy tummy”. He knows there is a baby in my tummy but doesn’t know that he is going to come out.
Since pnut loves doing everything that I do, I bought him an elmo that acts like a baby. It has a bottle and is dressed up just like the baby will be at the hospital. This way he can pretend to take care of “his baby” while I’m busy taking care of the real one.
I just hope pnut isn’t jealous of all the extra time I have to spend with the new little one.

My Little Reader
Pnut LOVES books. So much so that we spend the majority of our day reading his rapidly growing book collection. He of course as a couple favorite books that we absolutely must read at least 20 times a day. We have read these books so much that he even has them memorized and when mommy is just too tired or sick of reading the same thing he will gladly sit on the floor at my feet and read the book to me. How cute is that? I’ve been trying to get a video of it but of course he gets shy and doesn’t want to cooperate.
This is the book that we BOTH have memorized…
I must say that this book is a favorite of mine. I love how my sons face lights up each and everytime we read as if it was the first time. To show how interested the pnut has become in learning and reading at two years old is in his new favorite show. “Between the Lions” is a PBS show that comes on in the afternoons. It is only 30 minutes long but my son is totally loving learning what each letter sounds like. It teaches kids to read basically. Now I know this is geared toward older kids but why restrict a kids learning. It is so great to hear my son playing in his room, reading his books, and going through letters trying to figure out what they sound like. “Ba Ba Ba” he says as he looks at the letter B on our refridgerator. Yet another video I’ve yet to capture. The pnut is growing up so fast it is hard to believe. Lately, he has also been using his manners. He learned how to say “Yes, Ma’am”. Can you believe that. I believe I only said it once and he picked it up just like that. It is so incredibly cute. He says “Please” “Thank You” and now “Yes, Ma’am”. He doesn’t know to call the men “Sirs” so it is really funny when he says “yes, ma’am” to daddy. It is good that he has picked up on these manners because kids now a days just don’t have any at all.

Pretend Play
The latest way pnut loves to play is to pretend. He will take various stuffed toys [Grover, Big Bird, Elmo, Squishy Bear] and will pretend that they are real. He asks them questions… “Eat, Eat?….Ok?….Alright” He will ask me questions if the stuffies can do something “Mama, Grover eat eat?” “Mama, Gator bath?” “Mama, Big Bird pee-pee, boo-boo?” “Meow [stuffed cat], cicle?[ride the tricycle] Ok?” He has trained them all how to use the potty like the “big boys do” as well as fed them their meals and taken them for rides on his tricycle.
It is good to see him using his imagination. It shows how creative and smart he really is. I know he’ll be a great big brother. And his speaking skills have improved so much since he turned two. He makes sentences, repeats everything you say or the tv says and can understand instructions very well. His favorite thing to do is cook with mommy. He loves cooking.
His favorite shows are Deal or no deal, American Idol, Bear in the Big Blue House and Sesame Street. There is an online game version of Deal or No Deal that he LOVE to play. We will play it 5 million times if I’d let him. When the contestants on American Idol hold out long notes, so does the pnut. It is so cute to see him sing. He says “Sing, Mama, Sing” when he wants me to join in on the fun. He talks about Bear in the Big Blue house all the time. He learned all the names of the characters on the show so he will tell me what each one did on whatever video he watches for that day.

Finally Potty Progress
Finally pnut has started to realize how to do this whole potty thing. For the past 3 days we have had NO accidents. NONE. Not even when he sleeps. *knocks on wood* I am so proud of him. He is doing so well. Poop and pee in his training potty. So great. I don’t know why he has a sudden interest in the training potty but whatever will get him to poop in it is fine with me. I couldn’t be a prouder mama right now, that is for sure. I hope he keeps this up and doesn’t back track once baby #2 is born.

We’ve got Boo-Boo!!!
I am so proud and excited for pnut. Today he FINALLY boo-boo’d in the potty like a big boy. Granted it was his training potty and not the big potty but still that is better than the floor or his training underwear. He finally got to eat the boo-boo candy, which is a nerd rope, from off of the wall that we’ve been saving for this day!
I tried a couple of tactics to get him to this point. One, the last time he pooped on the floor we shamed him. No one likes to be ashamed or embarrassed so we tried to make him feel as bad as possible about pooping on the floor as we could. Secondly, once he did poop on the potty we praised him SO much. We ran through the house chanting about pooping in the potty and getting to eat the “special” candy. Thirdly, we called Daddy at work and told him. Got Daddy to praise him on the phone and then we called grandma and told her. Everyone was so proud of the pnut, especially mommy.

“Gader, Boo-Boo, Ticker”
So pnut came up to me this evening with his favorite alligator toy in hand. “Mama, gater, boo-boo, ticker” he said. [translated: “alligator has to go boo-boo so he can get a sticker”] “Alligator has to go boo-boo?” I asked. “Yeah!” He exclaimed in utter excitement. So off to the bathroom we rushed to teach alligator how to go potty like the big boys do. I managed to sneak off to get my camera to catch some photos of pnut teaching the alligator how he goes potty.
Helping Gator on the potty
Helping Gator on the potty 2
After Gator successfully goes potty he gets to wear big boy pants just like me!!!

Pa-pa’s boy
My father came into town today to help us move back to our homestate. You’d think that pnut actually loved his grandfather or something. Pnut is all over grandpa like white on rice. He follows him around and makes him play all of pnuts little games with him. When grandpa is around, pnut doesn’t want anything to do with his parents. It is all grandpa, all the time.
Today while trying to finish packing up the house, we kept hearing pnut yell from the backyard for his “pa-pa”. “pa-pa help me” “pa-pa, are you?” “pa-pa, swing me”. Pnut has really picked up alot of sentences. He can communicate alot better in the two months since we last saw grandpa. He knows numbers 1-13 and half of his shapes. It is still a little hard for pnut to say his shapes like triangle, rectangle, but he can say star, circle, and square just fine.
